The Foundation is celebrating another record-breaking year of grantmaking:

  • San Diego Jewish Academy
  • Soille San Diego Hebrew Day School
  • Southern California Yeshiva High School
  • Torah High School of San Diego

Sept. 4, 2010 -- Jewish Community Foundation CEO Marjory Kaplan, James Farley, and Murray Galinson published an opinion article on hunger in The San Diego Union-Tribune.  As September is National Hunger Action Month, the article identifies ways people can take action to make a difference.

The article builds on the study on hunger and food insecurity that the Jewish Community Foundation conducted in 2009.

Thanks to grants from several Foundation donors, elementary school children are receiving backpacks of food for the weekend through the San Diego Food Bank’s innovative Food 4 Kids Backpack Program.
