| United Jewish Federation of San Diego County: |

The United Jewish Federation of San Diego County has launched an Israel Crisis Fund. Through United Jewish Communities, funds will be allocated to the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI).
JDC has identified specific needs including:
- providing case workers to 25,000 elderly and disabled residents;
- consulting to municipalities such as Ashkelon and Sderot to bolster emergency preparedness;
- expanding trauma prevention and relief for children;
- reinforcing networks of emergency volunteers;
- fortifying security structures for the elderly; and
- boosting local small businesses impacted by the ongoing violence.
JAFI has identified specific needs including:
- providing 23,500 children with respite trips away from missile zone;
- purchasing computers for children so they can continue school work;
- providing supplies such as blankets, toys and items for personal hygiene for bomb shelters; and
- providing crisis counseling and therapy for new immigrants at absorption centers.

Friends of the Israel Defense Forces has launched a Frontline Operation Campaign in response to an emergency request to supply more goods and services to the thousands of active-duty and reserve soldiers deployed in the Gaza Strip area including the following:
- heating devices and warm clothing.
- personal care packages including toiletries and comfort items;
- rest and recreation field tents where soldiers can keep warm, relax, watch cable television, eat, and play games.
- portable cell phone chargers so soldiers can contact loved ones.
